Start off our installation, we're gonna have to first remove this access panel right here, 'cause this is where our hitch is going to be sitting. We can go ahead and pull off the dust boot, which will get it off our safety chain loop there. It's a good way to store it when you're not using it. We can see the flat four connector that we've got here at the back. Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T1 Trailer Wiring Harness here on our 2021 Cadillac XT5. So this wiring harness here is going to provide us with the most basic type of trailer connector. It's going to be a four pole flat. The four pole flat is going to be able to transfer the stop and turn signal circuits for both sides, as well as the running light circuits. This is going to be the most common type of trailer connector on the market and suited for most trailers we're going to be towing here with your XT5. I will, however say, that if you have a larger trailer with electric brakes, chances are it's going to use the other common size, which is a 7way. more

So the Curt T-Connector Harness here is gonna provide us with the most basic type of trailer connector, and that's gonna be a 4-way flat. Now the 4-way flat are gonna house most of our basic circuits, such as the stop and turn signals for both sides, as well as the running light circuit. There is another common type of trailer connector called a 7-way. Now you may need a 7-way for some of those larger trailers with electric brakes. Today on our 2019 Cadillac XTS, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the ZCI circuit protected vehicle wiring harness with a four-pole flat connector. These Cadillacs are really stylish and look great when you're looking at them from the back. So you don't want to do anything to compromise that look and what's cool about this setup is whenever you're not using the trailer wiring, it's going to be stored inside, out of sight, and out of mind. Whenever you are ready to use it though, it's super easy, open up your trunk and we're going to have this little compartment here where you can access some of your fuses, pull that out and pull your trailer wiring out. Not only are you not going to be able to see it when you're not using it, but it's going to keep it out of the elements and keep it in really good shape, which is always important that way you know it'll last for a long time.But so what we're going to do is just drape it over our threshold here anywhere there's weatherstripping is fine. more

Today on our 2016 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness for a factory tow package. Now typically you would have a hitch right here, but in this particular situation it's a lot easier to install your wiring first. But once your hitches in place, what you could do is attach your wiring to that hitch using a number of different brackets that are available. Or what you could even do is use your dust cap and wrap it around your safety chain openings to secure it that way.Many of our customers have questions in regards to which wiring kit to get, because there are a handful out options out there. However, if you do have the factory tow package like we do, I really like this option because it's simply just plugs right in. more

It's also going to have a dust cap, and that will go over our plug, and help protect it from the elements, such as rust and corrosion. Today on our 2016 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Plug-In simple wiring harness for factory tow packages. Now right off the bat, first thing I do want to point out is that typically you would have your hitch right here already in place. But since this wiring is so much more convenient and easier to install with the hitch removed, it's a good idea to put this in first. However, once you have it in, your hitch can easily be put in place, and then you'd be able to mount your wiring to your hitch using some brackets that are available here at Etrailer. Or what you could even do is use your dulce cap, wrap it around the safety chain loop on your hitch and secure it that way. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package, with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. That's going to be part number C56325.So here's what our wiring looks like once it's installed. It's going to provide us the 4-pole flat trailer connector. It's going to give us all the required lights to get down the road safety and securely, such as our running lights, our tail lights and our turn signals.Our wiring is going to be a plug and play installation, we're not going to have to cut or splice into any kind of factory wiring. We're going to have a plug that's going to be just under the bumper here, that's going to plug directly into our harness and provide us all the power and signals that we need. Our turn signals are going to have the 7.5 amp rating each, whereas our tail lights are going to have 7.5 amp total rating.Whenever we're not using it, we can just take our dust cover, slip it through our safety chain connection point, and the wiring will be tucked up by our hitch here, and we can put the cover back in place. more

Part number HM11141475.Here's what our wiring gonna look like once we have it installed. It is gonna provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector for all our lights, like our turn signals, our brake lights, and our tail lights. Our wiring is designed to say on the outside of the car, which means it's gonna be right next to our hitch whenever we get ready to hook up. Now, if you want a more permanent attachment point, you can pick up a bracket on etrailer.com so we can mount it right to our hitch.As far as installation goes, it's gonna be extremely simple. Speaker 1: Today, in our 2012 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at the CURT vehicle wiring harness for four pole flat trailer connector part number 56096.So here's what our CURT wiring's going to look like once we have it installed. It is going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times, and it's going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector for our tail lights, turn signals, and our brake signals. If you want more of a permanent mounting solution for your wiring, we have brackets available at etrailer.com that'll mount directly to your hitch.As far as installation goes, our wiring is going to be extremely easy. We're going to have a factory connector that we're going to plug directly into, which is going to be right behind the bumper, right here in the center. And CURT did put a nice loom around the wire, so it's going to protect it and kind of hide that color a little bit, so we don't have such bright wires in the back of our car.So now that you've seen what our wiring looks like, let's show you how to get it installed.Now we already have our hitch installed on our SRX, but if you don't, there's going to be a panel that's going to be right here, and we're going to need to remove two Phillips head screws in order to get to our wiring.Now the wiring harness itself that we're going to be plugging into, is going to be right behind the bumper, right above where our hitch is. Our wiring harness is going to be directly in the center, and most likely, it's going to have a clip holding it to the frame, but if we reach up there, we can grab it and pull it down, making it a lot easier to work with.The connector we're going to be looking for is a gray cap and four plugs on the very end of it. more

Today in our 2017 Cadillac XT5, we'll be installing a Tekonsha T-one vehicle wire harness for a factory tow package that'll give us a four-pole flat-trailer connector, part number 118720. Here's what a wiring harness looks like installed. As you can see, we can just hook it onto our safety chain loop of our hitch, so it's readily accessible. We have plenty of slack in the wiring, so if we wanted to have it hang out a little bit more, we could. I just have it tucked up here as high as I could. When we're ready to use it, we just undo the dust cover here, un-pull it from the safety-chain loop. Now this four-pole flat will give us all the necessary lighting that we're required by law to have when we tow our trailer. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Cadillac SRX 118259- Video
Today on our 2010 Cadillac SRX we have our T1 vehicle wiring harness for a factory tow package, part number 118259. Our package includes a couple zip ties for getting this up out of the way, and the wire harness. Our first step is to locate our vehicle factory trailer harness, which is going to be right here in the bumper. I'll go ahead and take this panel off, we've got our Phillip's screwdriver with two screws, and we pull the panel off. Now that I've got my two screws out I'll go ahead and pull the panel off. Now that we've located our wire harness we've got a weather cap on here, we'll pull the tab and it pops right off. This is there to seal it from the weather. We'll take our new wiring harness and clip it back in place. more

Today on our 2015 Cadillac SRX, we're going to show you how to install the tow-ready T1 vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with the four-pole flat trailer connector. Part number is 118259. To begin our installation we need to remove the two screws here on the back holding our cover into place. Once those are out, pull down and out it there and we'll be able to reach right up inside here and find our plug-in for our trailer connection. One piece of advice is if you're putting a hitch in the vehicle, that's going to be mounted in these two hole locations here and here. It's a really good idea to get your wiring in first so you can get to that connector. What we're going to do is pull that gray cap off of the end, then we'll replace it with our wiring connector. As you can see, it's almost identical. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Cadillac CTS- Video
Today on this 2004 Cadillac CTS we're going to install part number 56043. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and open the trunk, and our connection point for our wire harness is going to be back here. To pull this panel out we're going to have to remove our threshold first. Remove these tie down points here on both sides. Our cover for our spare tire has to go too. Pull up on the bottom and it should come loose. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Cadillac SRX 56096- Video
Today on our 2014 Cadillac SRX we're going to be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Trailer Flat Connector, part number 56096. We're going to begin here on the lower rear fascia of the vehicle. We're going to need to remove this center section. To do that, we'll need to remove the Phillips head screw here as well as over there. Once your screws are both removed just simply lean the panel downward. There's five little tabs at the top that you'll need to get to release. We're going to go up here underneath the bumper structure itself. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Cadillac SRX 118259- Video
Today on our 2014 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-pole flat trailer connector with vehicles with a factory tow package, part number 118259. Now we're going to go ahead and start here at the center of the vehicle on this lower fascia piece at the rear bumper. We're going to need to remove this screw here as well as this screw here. Both of these are just a Phillips-head, so we'll just be using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Once the screws are out, lean the center door section down, and it'll just pop out of the 5 tabs that are at the top. Now if you look up here underneath the rear bumper right here on the back side, this right here is the plug that we're looking for. Now to make things a little bit easier, we're going to go ahead and remove it from the plastic tab securing it to the bumper. more

Today on our 2013 Cadillac SRX we're going to be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package Vehicles, part number 118259. We'll begin here at the rear of the vehicle where we're going to need to remove this lower panel here. To do this, we'll remove the two screws using our Phillips head screwdriver. We'll then take the panel and bend it downward and work the tabs from the bumper fascia. The factory plug that we'll tying in with is located right here. We're going to go ahead and remove the tab that holds it to the bumper structure just to make things a little bit easier and so that we can see things a little bit more. We'll need to remove this gray cap here; to do this we'll lift up on the locking tab and simply pull downward. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today in our 2011 Cadillac SRX we'll be installing the Curt 4-Pole Flat Wiring Connector, part number 56096. Now for this application, it's highly recommended to install your wiring before you install the hitch because once you put the hitch in place, it will cover up your access to get to the manufacturer's tow port that we'll need to connect to. First, we'll go ahead and remove the rear fascia cover. To remove the rear fascia cover, there's two screws that we'll go ahead and remove and then pull down on the fascia cover, gently releasing the fasteners underneath. We'll go ahead and set these aside as they will not be reinstalled as the hitch will take it's place once it's installed. Next we'll go ahead and locate the manufacturer's tow port that's secure to the back of the bumper structure. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Cadillac SRX 118259- Video
Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX were going to install part number 118259 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and locate the port for our towing harness. This is going to be located on the back side of the bumper right above where the hitch will sit. Using a trim panel tool well go ahead and pop it loose from its mounting location. Now we already had ours started a little bit earlier, and it was a tight fit to get it removed. Well go ahead and pull it down so we can work on it easier, then well go ahead and remove the cap. more

All right, today on this 2012 Cadillac CTS were going to install part number 118466 from Tow Ready. OK. Everything will get installed inside the vehicle. So the first thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the back hatch. All right, next well go ahead and remove the spare tire cover and then were going to have to remove the threshold as well. Well have to remove two covers from the hooks on the back of the threshold and then we can go ahead and pop it loose from the top. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2003 Cadillac Escalade- Video
Today on our 2003 Cadillac Escalade well be installing the Tow Ready custom fit vehicle wiring harness, part number 118384. With our vehicle equipped with a pigtail well simply go ahead and take the end of the pigtail, press on the locking tab and remove the cap. Now well bring in our Tow Ready custom fit wiring harness, plugged directly into the manufacturers connector. Then well take the cap that we just removed from the manufacturers wiring and plug into the other end of our T connector. Now we can go ahead and route our wire along the hitch and out behind the bumper. Next well go ahead and take some zip ties and secure the wiring to the hitch and behind the bumper, and well take a pair of side cutters, cut off any excess from our zip tie. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2003 Cadillac Escalade HM40975- Video
Today on our 2003 Cadillac Escalade, well be installing the Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 7 and 4 Pole, part number HM40975. This will be in conjunction with the Draw-Tite No Drill Mounting Bracket, part number 18136. First lets go ahead and identify the manufactures wiring that well be using. As you can see, its bundled up here behind the bumper against the frame. Well go ahead and untie it and run it down to the hitch. Now for this application we want the wire to go over the hitch, so Im going to go ahead and loosen up the hitch enough to get the wire connector over the top of the hitch and between the bumper. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Cadillac SRX 118259- Video
Today on our 2011 Cadillac SRX well be installing the Tow Ready replacement OEM tow package wiring harness, part number 118259. To install the wiring well be connecting with the manufacturers plug. Note that this wiring install is a replacement of the OEM tow package wiring harness with a four pole flak. When installing your wiring in conjunction with the hitch its recommended to install the wiring first as the hitch will block your access to the manufacturers connector. To install the wiring well first remove the manufacturers weather cap by pulling back on the connector lock and removing the cap. Then we can take our new wiring harness and plug in line with the manufacturers connector. more
